Some things in SL just amuse me. I saw a photo on a particular video, and the photo had a butler in it. I instantly wanted one for my house. I showed the same video to Jeffry, and he picked up on the butler too. So, it became our mission to find this particular object. Turned out, it was a gacha item. This was bad news, as I knew how crazy Jeffry gets with gachas. He's worse with them than I am!

But still, we went to the gacha and as expected, he went insane with it. We got a whole bunch of them, until he stopped when he got the one he finally wanted. We kept a couple, and I listed all the others on the marketplace.

Ribald, the Butler

I love this guy. He's one of the most comical things I have encountered in a long time. I don't even know why, nor can I figure out what the appeal of him is to me.We totally have all different versions of him around our sim. We have this guy inside the front door, one roasting marshmallows over a fire pit outside, and another one with a boombox over by Jeffry's little DJ table he has set up. Ribald the butler, is fun!

I've been following the adorable Alica's blog since as long as I can remember! And lately, I have been noticing that she's accumulated the sweetest smile in her photos! It made me bring out my emoter. And I quickly found out that my smile looks squinty, and just... all around derpy. Come to find out, Alicia previously did a tutorial on how she got her cute little smile! I totally had to try it.

It was a colossal pain the in the rear to do, as I have issues with my eyelashes. I do not wear normal alpha eyelashes - each eyelash I wear is an individual prim, and when I first got them, I spent hours to fit each one to where it was supposed to be. I never messed with them after that. However, this required me to get out my editing skills out and modify them once more. But anyway! Most people likely won't face this struggle like I had to!

smile-photo

I think my smile shape turned somewhat cute! I think this might be a normal thing for me to have in my photos now, as the idea for smiling for photos, seems so natural... yet, never really done in SL. All those emoter smiles seemed so ridiculous, and I'm glad someone finally found a way to make smiling not so creepy in SL! Yay!

Wow, it seems many people have been interested in this Sculptie Maker, and it was brought to my attention that I never included a SLURL where you can get this awesome contraption in world! You can find it at this location, if you would like to check it out.

And a quick follow-up with my shoe - I figured that there was a few design flaws with it. As soon as I put it on and stuck the invisi-prim on it, it made the foot look freakishly tiny. Like, only half of the foot was there. A silly design flaw - all I had to do was make the toe area and sides taller, and I had a decent looking sole. I also made the toe area a little longer for personal preference. Want a picture? Here you go:

Sculpted Heel Made by ME!

One has a sculpted heel (which took me about 10 minutes to make with the Sculptie Generator), and the other doesn't. Yes, the heel needs work, I know, but I'm still deciding what I want to do with it.

I am totally excited about it, really. This has opened so many new doors for me as a jewelry maker and a creator. I always thought sculpted shoes were for those spiffy CG artists or something, who do 3D modeling as a RL job... but this little contraption really made me rethink that. Sure, my puny sculpted shoe isn't ANYWHERE near Storm Schmooz, Shiny Things or Armidi.... but - omg. I made it! *bounces off walls*

After complaining to my partner, Bats, about how small my shop is getting, he got tired of listening to me and bought me a bigger shop in Glenn! This one is still in the same sim as where Imperial Elegance is located, but just down the street, and twice as big! O_O I've been eyeing it for a while, because my current space is running out of floor room. (I never thought I'd run out of space before I ran out of prims!)

Imperial Elegance - 03.05.2008

So, last night after he logged off, I spent a lot of time trying to think of how I want to organize it. I think I came up with something, and started playing with it. This was how it looked last night before I went to bed. Uneven plywood all over the place! I wanted to get a basic idea of the layout and just how many prims would be necessary for the floors and walls.

Imperial Elegance - 03.06.2008

When I woke up this morning, I immediately tped back to the shop and worked on it a bit more. Looks a bit better, no? I evened the flooring, textured it all, and got the general layout worked out. OMG, the little gadget called the "Prim.Docker" was my best friend through all this. It aligned the prims perfectly, and even aligned the textures! Saved me from lots of giant swearing fits. O.o

New releases will go on the highest platform, poses will go on the lower platforms, and couples poses will go on the rack looking thing behind my head. Oh, and the other randomness I sell with go along the side walls, behind the rack-y thing.

Imperial Elegance - Lucky Chair

In addition to all that....! I am also putting in a lucky chair. This still needs work, and the prizes aren't even ready yet, but its coming along well ^^ I personally love the quality lucky chairs (not the BIAB crap ones), because it gives me an opportunity to get great things while being semi-productive. Its much better than sitting at the kotatsu in my skybox organizing - I get so bored doing that. I plan on giving my group members the prizes (a silver and a gold chain link necklace) that will go into this chair next week via Subscriber Kiosk, after that, the only way you would be able to get them is through the chair :D

ZOMG, speaking of my skybox. For those who read my blog often, you know I set up a skybox workspace above Bats' and my house several weeks ago. I do all my photography here, jewelry making, changing, and afk-ing (and I literally never log off, so I am in it ALL the time). Anyway, I was browsing SLX while SL was running in the background... when I came back to SL, I had noticed two people on radar, 13 meters away from me, 695 meters above our house. WTF?

Seriously, something like this has never happened before, so I was freaking out, wondering what was going on. I cammed out, and seen a man and a woman just hovering outside my skybox. O.o I tped out of my skybox, to the roof of it, and they both flew off. O.o Still curious, I did some investigating around the land on the sim.... to find they purchased land 1 parcel over from Bats and I last week. -.- I swear, if they continue peeping in my box, there will be a problem.

It took everything I had not to IM one of them and ask, "Did you read the covenant before you bought that land?" Because the covenant clearly states: No flying up to other resident's private rooms in the sky. !! Morons. -.-

Umm... ok, I guess thats my rant for the day. I am also considering having a 50% everything (well, minus new releases) sale at Imperial Elegance to celebrate the move to a bigger space. ^^ I'm just so excited to have the space, there is still tons to be done - moving vendors, making new signs, changing landmarks..... *sigh*

I've been hearing alot about Tillie's Posing Stand, so I hopped on SLExchange and bought it. I have been using a HUDDLES to hold and flip through all my poses, but I was getting bored, and I felt like trying something new.

Tillie-HUD

This thing comes with a HUD that lets you flip through your poses, show/hide the stand, and even rotate your stand for the perfect shot. Sorry, don't mind my other HUDS hanging around my screen - I totally forgot to detach them before I took pictures.

Now, this is pretty cool and all - but... I have found an annoyance. Because I wear so many HUDs at one time (Mystitool, AO, Tiny Empires, HUDDLES, Trader Alert, Couple's Animator... O.o), I really need to be able to move the hud around to fit around everything else. Well.... when I move this, every time I click a button on it, it goes back to default position. I usually have all my HUDs situated and I wish I was able to move this around permanently. *cries* I will try this a few more days to see if I can get used to new HUD positions and such.
